We made it back to the states safe and sound. We even got upgraded to business class for the flight home, which made leaving England a little easier. We're all sad to be gone and miss it already...if only there were rock clubs with indie dance nights in America!! On a good note though, we got to eat Mexican food last night and it was amazing!

I need to go to bed cuz we have to leave at 5am to drive to Dallas for Warped Tour, but I want to give a quick summary of our last fews days abroad. After leaving the Steel City, we went to Leicester. The show was a festival at the Uni and had potential to be really cool (so yeah for the kids who put it on..at least they tried.) Unfortunately, the term was already over and according to the promoter "alot of students had gone home already." There were actually a few people there, but it was in this giant room with a giant stage in the student union, and it would have looked empty even if they hadn't all been sitting in the back.

Anyway, after getting served hamburgers that came from the Palaeolithic Age (mine was like petrified wood and it bounced...somehow Christina managed to eat 1 1/2, though she complained of a belly ache later), we played the show. It wasn't bad...it's always fun to play on a big stage with lots of room to run around, and a couple kids even came up to the front. We stuck around for a few more bands, but then we decided it would be best to head back to Sheffield since it was halfway between Leicester and Liverpool. The drive took forever b/c we sat in traffic for an hour, but we entertained ourselves with my newly discovered long-exposure feature on my camera.

Next day we all slept in (our friend/driver/roadie/merch boy Tom would sleep forever if he could), then got up and drove to Liverpool. This show was to Leicester, like water is to fire. We played with Flamingo 50(we met them in April on tour) as well as Big Joan and Meow Meow. All the bands were great, the crowd danced and sang along, and it was a good way to end the SDS tour.

So, I think I've said this a billion times, but it doesn't hurt to say it again...thanks to everyone who made our big adventure so awesome. We took over a few houses, slept on a lot floors(and even a few beds when we got really lucky), got some really cool last minute shows, and met some rad people. It was a good 3 months, we learned a lot, and I can't wait to do it again!!

The kids in Sheffield rule. We played a show here last night...it was totally last minute, i think it was confirmed on monday and the show happened tuesday...and still a bunch of people came out. We played right in the middle of a couple of political punk bands...which i'm sure made us sound super poppy. Everyone seemed to have a good time, and it gave us one more practice before Warped Tour. Thanks to everyone involved in setting up the show, the other bands for playing and Tom for driving us around.

finally made it out of london and to sheffield...
the weekend was great...went to a cowboy/pirate themed party complete with fires, fights and a pirate ship, climbed a big fence into a castle in the rain....luckily no one slipped and impaled themselves on the giant spears...but christina did find the prison toilet and maggie fell out of a hole in the wall, and then we snuck into a creepy abbey at night...it was raining, freezing cold, and i think we saw a ghost...perfectly england.
sad to be going home soon!

Usually when I don't write for awhile, it means nothing is going on....but amazingly enough, we've actually been really busy. Some band stuff, but mostly going out and getting to know the london nightlife..haha. As we all know, I like lists, and since they are quick and efficient, and I've only got 10 minutes left on the computer, you know what i'm gunna do:

- Played a cool show at The 12 Bar Club. Weird stage, it was really high, but right at eye level was a second floor balcony. I couldn't see anything, except the wall in front of me. A couple of the guys from The Vibrators were there, and I was told someone from UK Subs was too. Rad! Our friends Ellie and Vanessa came out which was awesome...

- Went to a crazy club in London...had to be on a guestlist to get in, and still had to pay £20. What?!! Thats like New Years Eve prices in Austin.

- Did an exact repeat of trip we took last year to Windsor Castle...complete with a closed castle(again), our friend on crutches and rain. The amazing part was it's been sunny almost the whole time we've been in London, but the day we go try to hang out outside, its miserable. We did get to the Hampton Court Maze though. Christina was disappointed, but Maggie and I were stoked cuz we've been wanting to go since we saw it on Mr. Rogers lots of years ago.

- Hung out with our friends in Trail of Dead....very random, but cool.

- Went to see These Arms are Snakes and saw our driver from last year...also cool.

- Been to every indie rock night in london and danced like crazy.
