Being responsible and getting the airport early is a great thing, but it sure does suck when you gt checked in really fast abd then have two hours to just sit around. Christina is playing gameboy, maggie is reading the paper, and i, obviously, am wasting money on the internet station. I guess its no more expensive to use this, that it is for the internet cafes in england.
We've had a busy weekend. Friday we played Ladyfest. I thought it went pretty well. We all rocked pretty hard, and it was super hot!! Christina was dumping water over her head, and running around the stage. Thanks to Meridiith for taking pictures.
Yesterday we went to the TexasSkiRanch for the Girls Learn to Ride event. We were hoping to ride some Moto-X, but that clinic was full, so we wakeboarded instead. Maggie ripped it up...pulled some surface 180s right off the bat(keep in mind, she's only been twice.) I crashed a couple times and gave myself whiplash. It was Christina's first time to ride...after concentrating really hard, and realizing that she isnot stronger than te boat, she stood up. yeah!! she also rode the skatepark on my bmx...she IS extreme.
thanks to mark and everyone for a fun day.
time's up.

i can't believe that we are going to Europe in 2 weeks. I was getting really excited yesterday as I was updating the shows on our webpage. It's crazy how much can happen in a year...in a few months for that matter. We've been staying busy trying to get everything together for the tour. Merch, laundry, packing, etc. I'm doing my best not to procrastinate, since the two days before we leave, we're playing shows. Ladyfest on May 28 with the Butchies (just bought their new CD, it's really good.) and then at the Texas Ski Ranch on May 29 for an all girl action sports clinic. Should be lots of fun, as long as no one gets hurt wakeboarding or riding moto-x. I'm already anticipating being sore on the plane ride to London.

Right now we are at our show in Humble, TX at Fuel Cyber Cafe. There are computers here..hence the name with cyber in it...so I thought I'd do a bit of blogging befoe the next band starts. We already played our set, it went pretty well, although I feel like we scared some kids away. Or maybe they were just distracted by the computers and video games. Sold some stuff though, so I guess there were a few kids paying attention. The last band is getting ready to start...I imagine they will be pretty good since all the other bands that have played tonight were good.
After tonight we don't have any shows until the end of May...when we have lots of shows. Hardly a break from May 28 - June 27. It's gunna be awesome.

So, after a night spent camping in the tick-infested, poison-ivy-covered Hoosier National Forest, a night spent camping in a "$20 a night, plus $4 for a TV and $4 more for a second bed" motel in Kentucky(it was camping, cuz we pulled the comforters off the beds and slept in our sleeping bags), a rockin' show in Louisville, and another night in the van, we are finally back in Texas. We're still in Dallas, cuz Maggie and I are going to the Blink-182 show tomorrow night, but basically we're home...Christina's home anyway. Here's a list(one of my favorite things) of the cool and not-so-cool things that happened during the last few days of tour.

- Unbeknownst to us, The Kentucky Derby was going on the same weekend we played in Louisville...meaning there were absolutely no hotels...unless we wanted to pay lots of money. We had to drive 40 miles out of the city and stayed at a scary motel. We didn't realize there was a time change, so we almost didn't have time to shower before check-out time(which the motel strictly enforced!)

- Got to eat at my favorite BBQ place again...yummy sweet tea, burgoo and pork bbq.

- Christina had never slept in a tent before, built a campfire(she almost killed ours when she decided it would be a good idea to stir it), or eaten S'Mores. Now she's done all three.

- The show in Louisville was awesome. Lots of kids that stood right up in front of us, people flying into Maggie's drums, Christina headbanging like crazy(she gave herself whiplash), and lots of ROCK! The other bands that played were great and we had a fun time. Thanks to Dylan for setting up the show.
